| Q: What technology have you been focused on in recent production? What will you talk about during the SMT User Salon on August 29th? |
A: I have been focused on the technology of design software such as CAD, CAM and EDA because the data of SMT production all come from the software and the circuit board is also designed by the software. There is a close connection between design and production. I am now focusing on finding the way to improve production efficiency by using design software. Therefore, during the Salon on August 29th, I plan to introduce how to conduct SMT programming in a speedy and convenient way to improve production efficiency.

| Q: What do you think of the prospect of SMT industry? |
| A: The recent five to ten years will witness a great progress in SMT industry in China. Recently, China has just surpassed Japan, becoming the second largest SMT manufacturing country in the world only next to the United States. China still has a long way to go to become the global manufacturing factory. | |

| Q: As a senior engineer in SMT industry, could you give some suggestions to new SMT engineers? What should they do to improve their own qualities? |
| A: I suggest that SMT engineers should start from base and production workshop. Not only should SMT engineers be familiar with equipment and technical skills, but also strive to become professional personnel with comprehensive capabilities and managerial know-how. Since SMT is a comprehensive industry, SMT engineers should acquire a wide range of knowledge. I recommend SMT engineers to visit the website of SMT HOME frequently and read more professional books so as to enrich themselves. | | |

Xian Fei, an engineer, is one of the most famous and influential professional technical persons in Chinese SMT segment. Currently, he works for Fiberhome Telecommunication Technologies Co. Ltd. as the SMT technical supervisor of System Department, where he's mainly responsible for process technology of SMT production site including CAD/CAM/EDA technical support and process optimization of the electronic assembly workshop, new product process introduction, solving problems of site production, QC, troubleshooting of SMT equipment, equipment maintenance and components purchase, equipment introduction evaluation as well as technicians¡¯ training. Prior to Fiberhome, Xian Fei was engaged in important SMT related work for 9 years at several large and medium-sized listing communications corporations in Wuhan, successively. He has devoted himself to the frontline of production for a long time and known various placement equipment during many years work, thus acquiring a profound understanding about the characteristics of different equipments. Xian Fei is now a master of engineering candidate at College of Computer Science &Technology of HUST.
After his first article "Design and Development of Optimization Software for High Speed Placement Equipment" was published on the SMT publication in 1999, Xian Fei has published over 200 professional papers successively on over 20 professional publications. Besides, he has also published the book "Electronic Assembly Technology" (By Wu Yiping/Xian Fei, Huazhong University of Science and Technology Press). Most of his articles are published in the name of Fiberhome Telecommunication Technologies Co. Ltd in an effort to make Fiberhome Telecommunication Technologies Co. Ltd be more well-known in SMT segment.
