NEPCON/ EMT China 2008 Opens Today – Electronics Manufacturer's Source of New Products and Technologies

Tuesday 8th April: One of the largest events in Asia for both SMT and electronics manufacturing industry opened its doors today and will run throughout the week. Held at the Shanghai Everbright Conference and Exhibition Center, the 18th edition of the show is set to live up to its long-standing reputation as one of the most comprehensive electronics manufacturing event in the industry. On display will be a huge range of electronics manufacturing and SMT technology ranging from components to test equipment. Over 18,000 attendees are predicted to use the exhibition as a platform to source new suppliers, gather market information and learn about the latest technologies.

NEPCON/EMT China regularly fills four halls and 32,000 square metres with 650 world-class exhibitors. Big names such as Agilent, American Tec, Ascentek, Assembleon, Dage, DEK, First Technology, Heller, Hitachi, Juki, Kasion, Leeport, Omron, Samsung, Senju, Siemens, Smartech, Sony, Speedline, Sun East, Saki, Universal and WKK will again return to the show this year to take their place amongst a stellar array of trend-setters and innovators. In total, exhibitors hail from 22 countries and regions with national pavilions from the UK, Singapore, Korea, Germany and the USA. Over 60 companies exhibited for the first time this year.

Innovation and cutting-edge technology is paramount to NEPCON/EMT China so it is no surprise to learn that more than 120 new products are to be launched at this year's event. Just a small selection of the new products on display includes Siemens' SIPLACE X4i, Smartech's Fuji XPF high-speed multi-purpose mounter and Dek ELAi fully automatic printer, Sunsda's dual-wave peak soldering oven, Yan Tin's high speed chip shooter and high-speed modular mounter, Thinky Corp's 2,000 rpm simultaneous mixer and defoamer, Unicomp's high resolution X-ray system, automatic profiling from KIC International with its ‘KIC Vision' and new resin technology from Electrolube.

Creating the greatest buzz amongst the engineers and innovators in the industry is the SMTA China's packed programme of events. Over the few days, there will be opportunity for technical personnel to train for the SMT Engineer certificate. The award is the culmination of the SMT Technical Personnel Certification Program for National Key Talent Information Technology and Industry training that will be jointly organised by SMTA China and the Ministry of Information Industry.

Also taking place today, NEPCON/EMT China's ever-successful conference once more offers unparalleled learning opportunities that address the industry's most pressing issues of electronics manufacturing, advanced packing and lead-free reliability. Starting this morning, the SMTA will chair simultaneous technology and vendor conferences throughout the day. The eminent speakers taking the stand will bring a wealth of knowledge from Indium Corporation of America, Kester, Flextronics, Atotech Deutschland, Huawei, Delphi, SUSS Micro Tec and PacRim.
