NEPCON Celebrates its 19th Next Edition in a Big Way

NEPCON/EMT China is celebrating its 19th anniversary next edition with an even bigger and better event. For four days, NEPCON China will be the centre of the electronics manufacturing world with a host of activities planned. The exhibition has a reputation in the electronics manufacturing industry for being a world-class trading, learning and networking platform and these functions will be further enhanced in 2009 with the introduction of even more concurrent technical and high-level business conferences, industry awards, innovative presentations, pavilions and new fast-growing segments.

Market leaders such as Samsung, Siemens, Nutek, Assembleon, MyData, First Technology, Speedline, American Tec, Juki, Ascentek, Fuji, Omron, Saki, Agilent, Dage, Viscom and Tamura have not only pledged to attend this show, but have signed up for 2009. "As the best partner of SMT manufacturer, we will continue to support NEPCON China in 2009", says Fuyan Yang, the Product Management Director of Siemens. "We hope to have another great show this year. We will continue to show our support for 2009 and beyond!" say David Koh, Managing Director of MyData. A number of supporting associations are also expressing a strong mandate for the event. With such rapid growth in Chinese electronics manufacturing, many international firms are keen to enter the market. The VDMA from Germany, IEAT from Taiwan region, SPETA from Singapore and Intellect from the UK regularly bring a large number of international companies to the show and have also affirmed their commitment to 2009.

Ms Lee also reveals that organizers, Reed Exhibitions and CCPIT, have set the date of the 19th anniversary edition of NEPCON as 21-24 April 2009.

This year's event is expected to be a great success with over 650 exhibitors from 22 countries confirmed, and 18,000 visitors expected. Over fourty major companies including Alcaltel, Celestica, Flextronics, Qisda, Samsung, SCI, SONY and Toshiba will send delegations of more than 1,200 visitors to the exhibition. The 2008 conference programme guarantees unparalleled learning opportunities that address the industry's most pressing issues of electronics manufacturing, advanced packing and lead-free reliability. SMTA China will organize simultaneous technology and vendor conferences with eminent speakers from Indium Corporation of America, Kester, Flextronics, Atotech Deutschland, Huawei, Delphi, SUSS Micro Tec and PacRim from 8-10 April at West Hall, Level 3 of the exhibition venue. After discussions of such weighty matters, lighter relief, and a chance for all-important networking, will be found at the SMTA annual dinner on Wednesday 9th April.

Industry awards to be held during NEPCON China 2008 include the Vision Award from SMT China, and the Innovation Award from EM Asia, which celebrate the best products, and innovation of the industry. Also on offer will be an unmissable opportunity for technical personnel to train for the prestigious SMT Engineer certificate. The award is the culmination of the SMT Technical Personnel Certification Program for National Key Talent Information Technology and Industry training that will be jointly organized by SMTA China and the Ministry of Information Industry.

The anniversary growth is another coupe for a show that has recently picked up a prestigious award, and pledged to provide independently verified information to its supporters. In January, NEPCON China was named Shanghai's "Outstanding International Event" by Shanghai Convention & Exhibition Industries Association during its second annual meeting.
