China International Exhibition and Forum on Solid State Lighting:
New Venue Spells Out Bigger Prospects

30 Jun 2011

The China Solid State Lighting Alliance (CSA) recently announced that the China International Exhibition and Forum on Solid State Lighting (China SSL) will this year be held for the first time in Guangzhou, following a successful run in Shenzhen.

SSL China is one of the largest solid lighting events dedicated to the entire industry chains in Southern China, covering advanced products, technologies, applications and solutions in the LED industry. Co-located with one of the largest top-level forum in the industry, the event has more than seven years history and successfully attracted over ten thousands of government officials, company executives and industry leaders over the years. This event is the best trade and sourcing platform for you to conduct business with government authorities, key buyers in the rapidly growing industries that include automotive and display industry.

The move from the Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center to the Guangzhou Baiyun International Convention Center will expand the size of the show to 20,000sqm in 2011 from 15,000sqm in 2010 – a 33% boost.  As well as a larger scale, the new venue offers world-class facilities and international standard services across separate, yet interconnected, buildings.  Together with its close proximity to Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, the exhibition center offers an international class multifunctional venue and two adjacent five-star hotels.

The show enjoys a staunch support at multiple governmental levels.  The Guangzhou Municipal Government and Guangdong Provincial Science and Technology Department wholly endorse the exhibition and forum.  Additionally, as a location for high profile international events, Guangzhou is a hugely attractive draw for global buyers. The city regularly welcomes international visitors because of different types of big events, for instance, the world renowned annual Canton Fair. In the 6,000 LED manufacturers in China, there are nearly half concentrate in the Guangdong area. It is no doubt that China SSL could be an ideal platform for both local and international companies to conduct business with these LED manufacturers.

The 8th China SSL will take place from November 8 to November 10, 2011.  Thanks to the support of lighting industry professionals from China and abroad, the event continues to go from strength to strength.  This year, the forum will be three days of illuminating discussions on the prospects, challenges and projected outlook for the LED industry over the next 10 years. The 1,500 participants scheduled to take part will examine topical issues through speeches by key industry figures from government departments, senior representatives of major industry associations and leaders of high profile research institutes.  Among the subjects to be explored will mainly include the future development of LED technology, IPR policies and their application in the LED industry, investment opportunities and risks, development strategies across the industry chain, LED market trends, constructing and standardizing systems in the LED trade as well as problems and solutions for the LED industry over the next decade.

The 2011 China SSL will be the first time Reed Exhibitions and the CSA have extended their cooperation beyond the hugely successful Green Lighting Shanghai event.  Both organizers have a strong pedigree of producing trade-defining events. The CSA’s focus is on developing technology and industrialization in China’s LED sector. It is also a key facilitator of communication between government departments and the industry, as well as a platform for the promotion of sustainable cross-border partnerships.   At the same time, Reed Exhibitions is committed to leveraging its extensive experience and international resources to produce world-class exhibitions and market-defining conferences. Every Reed event is dedicated to highlighting fresh innovative solutions that help companies cut costs, enhance productivity and generate new business.

About the China Solid State Lighting Alliance

The China Solid State Lighting Alliance(CSA)was founded in October 2004. Based on the mutually understood principles of voluntariness, equality and collaboration, the association has 43 original members – all of them major Chinese SSL companies and research institutions. As the cohesion of the members has intensified and the association’s influence has grown, the CSA has rapidly expanded to its current 117 members from across Hong Kong and Mainland China.

The CSA’s objective is to promote technological advancement and commercialization of China’s SSL industry.  To this end, it accelerates the development and establishment of standards and quality testing methodologies.  It is also the CSA that bears the responsibility for establishing an information service platform for the entire SSL industry.  Such a platform improves regional and international cooperation and facilitates better communication between government and industry bodies.  All of which serve to improve the competitiveness of China’s SSL industry in international markets.
