ATOMETRICS Officially Launches New Flagship White Light Interferometer AM8000

ATOMETRICS has recently released its new flagship white light interferometer—AM8000. This cutting-edge device is capable of sub-nanometer level surface measurements on a wide range of precision components and materials, delivering detailed 3D surface topography with a measurement accuracy of less than 1nm.

While most domestic white light interferometers on the market are compatible only with short focal length and small field-of-view lenses, the AM8000 supports a much wider range of lens options. It accommodates long focal length, large field-of-view lenses such as 1X magnification lenses that reach a field of view of 18×11mm—ideal for large-area measurements. It also supports long focal 5X and 10X lenses with focal lengths of up to 40mm and 22mm respectively, suitable for deep-hole samples such as fuel injector nozzles. The expanded lens compatibility allows the AM8000 to adapt to more complex and unique measurement needs. Moreover, its auto-adaptive lens travel prevents accidental collisions with samples when switching lenses.

Enhanced Motion Platform with Precision and Speed

Equipped with a 4-axis direct-drive electric control platform, the AM8000 offers an XY travel range of up to 300mm. Its load capacity has been increased by 2.5 times, stitching speed improved by 30%, and positioning accuracy tripled. In traditional interferometers, extended travel often compromises accuracy, but AM8000 maintains motion straightness within ±1μm and angular error within 5 arcseconds even with large travel ranges. Additionally, a rotary stage can be added to meet wafer mapping requirements.

 

Over 300 Tools & Advanced Functions

The AM8000 features cycle measurement, batch report export, focus curves, ROI extraction and comparison, along with over 300 measurement tools, including surface roughness, profile analysis, texture direction, particle analysis, and texture homogeneity—satisfying the diverse needs of multiple industries.

 

One-Click Focus and Auto-Leveling

Boosting Operational Efficiency by 7×

Manual focusing and leveling are typically time-consuming and require significant operator expertise. The AM8000 introduces the "PreciTrack Auto-Stripe Focus" feature, which enables users to complete focusing and stripe detection within 5 seconds with just one click—7× faster than manual methods. Additionally, the industry-first "EquiDrive Auto-Leveling" system completes leveling in just 5 seconds, reducing interference fringes within the measurement area to 1 or 0—8× more efficient than manual leveling.

For large sample measurements, AM8000 supports rich stitching options, including square, circular, and ring patterns. Engineers can input values to automatically generate the required stitched regions. During batch sample measurements, the system supports multi-point programming to automatically position, and measure based on sample layout—no need for manual placement each time.

 

Integrated Controller Module

The AM8000 introduces a new controller module that consolidates platform movement, light source adjustment, and focus control into one unit. Routine operations can be performed with a single button, boosting work efficiency by up to 50%.

 

Built-in Air Suspension & Low Center of Gravity Design

Vibration Isolation Improved by 2.7×

As a high-precision measurement instrument, the white light interferometer is sensitive to environmental vibrations and accidental human contact. Traditionally, users must set up highly stable environments, which raises the application threshold.

To tackle this, the AM8000 features a built-in air suspension mechanism that encloses the entire vibration isolation structure and working platform. Its unique low center of gravity design significantly reduces environmental interference. Tests show that its vibration isolation stability is improved by 2.7×, achieving an RMS repeatability of 0.0041nm.

The AM8000 is also equipped with a 5000μm large-stroke piezoelectric ceramic scanner and a 5MP high-speed camera, paired with the industry-first SST + GAT algorithm. Supporting both PSI (Phase-Shifting Interferometry) and VSI (Vertical Scanning Interferometry), it enables rapid acquisition of sub-nanometer-level data.
